Creating Healthy Minds

About Us

Art Craft & Giggles is a Community Interest Company that was set up at the very start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are passionate about using ‘Art as Therapy’ to help adults over 18, living in the Plymouth area and who struggle with mental health issues, wellbeing, isolation or loneliness.

We pride ourselves on running art & craft sessions in a safe place where people can come to breathe and just be themselves for a while.

The giggles are infectious & belly laughs are guaranteed.

Meet like minded people and be creative

What we do

Weekly

Group Sessions

We run 2 art & craft workshops per week for adults living in the Plymouth area, who struggle with their mental health or feel that their wellbeing is being affected by how they feel.

CraftyBags

(Online Fun)

We send out CraftyBags each week that contain a project i.e. macrame, punch needle embroidery, sockie sausage dog making & then arrange zoom calls so we can all craft together.

Giggle

We have fun and so do the people who come us.  We want those who feel isolated, lonely and struggling with their mental health to join our sessions and leave with a smile on their faces.

More about our work

We have an excellent studio in St Budeaux, plymouth.  We invite people to our sessions in a safe and friendly environment where people can be themselves.  We help people to understand what they’re going through is ok & that they’re not alone. We being people together to help each other through peer support.

We bring like minded people together for genuine, person centred, caring support. The act of creating in a fun & understanding environment allows them to relax & feel confident to open up about struggles if they wish to. The difference it makes to people's lives is incredible. By offering a variety of activities, we in turn create a range of benefits for people attending which include:

We understand going to a new place can be a scary prospect, we see the fears & anxieties when people first join, but in no time at all people begin to relax, be themselves and start to enjoy themselves.  Our activities are something people start to look forward to.

Going forward we want to continue to reach out to more people who are isolated & lonely by things like health or disabilities. They’re crying out for help & support but sadly most organisations are overrun. We can be the ones who can help.

Case Study

"Just want to say thank you for having me in your group.

You will never know how much this group means to me. When I first arrived I was so nervous, but after being with the group for approximately 10 mins, I felt relaxed and really enjoyed myself.  It was so good to be with others that are through similar traumas and to be able to feel comfortable to talk and share our experiences.

I really missed the craft sessions when lockdown started, but again you came up trumps and started the Zoom workshops. I looked forward to these sessions and the fun and laughter we always have together.

My anxiety levels have certainly dropped since joining the group.

Thank you so much."
